Ok, so this fall makes it two years since our family stopped celebrating Halloween. You might be thinking oh its just innocent children in customs and candy, nothing to do with the devil. But Halloween represents much more. I did my research just to open some minds of the blind out there. This sinister celebration goes back to the fifth century B.C.E, The Celts observed the festival of Sambain at the end of October, when they believed ghosts and demons roam the earth more than any other time of the year. Then the Romans adopted the spiritistic rituals in the first century C.E. By the nineteen century C.E. thousands of people who moved from Ireland to the U.S. bring with them Halloween customs that, in time combined the similar customs of emigrants from Britain and Germany, as well as Africa and other parts of the world. So what are we actually participating in when we go trick or treating? A direct quote from a professed witch in the newspaper USA TODAY says, "Christians don't realize it, but they're celebrating our holiday with us... We like it. *Celebrations like Halloween are in conflict with the Bible teachings. The Bible warns: DEUTERONOMY 18 9-12, SOON YOU WILL GO INTO THE LAND THAT THE LORD YOUR GOD IS GIVING YOU. THE NATIONS THAT LIVE THERE DO THINGS THAT ARE DISGUSTING TO THE LORD,AND YOU MUST NOT FOLLOW THEIR EXAMPLE. DONT SACRIFICE YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER. AND DONT TRY TO USE ANY KIND OF MAGIC OR WITCHCRAFT TO TELL FORTUNES OR TO CAST SPELLS OR TO TALK WITH SPIRITS OF THE DEAD. THE LORD IS DISGUSTED WITH ANYONE WHO DOES THESE THINGS. I don't know about your decisions on how to raise your children, but once I realized the truth I decided that I would save my children to be filled with the spirit of the holy ghost and not of these demons.
